Indians need just one hit against E’Hawks

EMMETSBURG – Sprit Lake only managed one hit in its Lakes conference opener with Emmetsburg on Tuesday, but that turned out to be all the Indians needed.

Spirit Lake also took advantage of nine walks given up by Emmetsburg’s Taylor Morris in a 3-2 Indian victory. Morris also hit three batters.

Ethan Carlson gave up three hits and struck out 13 in earning the win for Spirit Lake. He also hit two batters.

The Indians scratched across one run in the third, fifth and sixth innings.

The E’Hawks scored both runs in the fourth inning.

Mitch Peschon was 1-3 with an RBI. Nik Erickson scored two runs and TJ Johnson had an RBI.

Spirit Lake hosts Western Christian on Friday.
