TERRIL – Clay Central-Everly committed two errors in the bottom of the seventh inning that allowed Graettinger/Terril’s Maddy Schany score the game-winning run in a 3-2 Knight victory on Friday.

Schany reached on a single, stole second base, went to third on Maverick error and scored on a second error.

While G/T coach Stephanie Hanson was happy with the win, she said, “We still need to play better ball.”

The Knights had four errors in the game. The home team rallied from a 2-0 deficit with two runs in the sixth inning.

Amanda Oleson singled and went to second on a sacrifice by Theresa Petersen and to third on a single by Tasha Neilson. A passed ball allowed G/T to plate its first run.

Dakota Hovinga then reached on an error, sending Neilson to third when she scored on a passed ball.

The Knights had four hits with Schany going 2-3 and Neilson and Oleson each went 1-3.

Malorie Girres picked up the win on the mound. She gave up two hits and four walks while striking out six batters.

G/T (4-2, 2-1) is on the road against West Bend-Mallard on Friday.
