Mustang bats silent at Emmetsburg Tourney
EMMETSBURG – The Armstrong-Ringsted bats were mostly silent over at the Emmetsburg Tournament on Saturday.
The Mustangs had only three hits on the day in losing 9-0 to Emmetsburg and 12-0 to Westwood (Sloan).
“It was nice to face some tough competition and hopefully we’ll learn from our mistakes,” said A-R coach Ryan Luedtke.
Against Emmetsburg, Keith Mathine pitched 3 2/3 innings. He gave up four hits, three walks and two hit batters. Brett Thackery pitched 2 1/3 innings, giving up four hits, two runs and two walks. Craig Tigges closed out the game. He walked two and struck out one.
Brett Thackery and Travis Hantelman each had a hit.
Against Westwood, Tanner LaBore pitched four innings, giving up nine hits and six walks with one hit batter. Tigges had the team’s lone hit.
A-R hosts Estherville Lincoln Central today.
