Mustangs take care of Tigers

ARMSTRONG – The Armstrong-Ringsted softball team continues to rack up the wins. On Friday, visiting Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka was the victim as the Mustangs won 8-3.

The Tigers held an early 2-0 lead when errors began to mount in the bottom of the third.

Jasmine Clausen was hit by a pitch and Brittney Mitchel drew a walk. A single by Morgan Grabinoski loeaded the bases and two runs scored when rosie Cheever reached on an error. Grabinoski scored when the WCLT pitcher threw an illegal pitch. A-R led 4-2 as Cheever scored when Amy Leach reached on an error.

The Mustangs added two insurance runs each in the fifth and sixth innings.

Leach struck out 13 and walked none while giving up five hits in the victory.

Grabinoski was 2-3. Cheever was 1-4 with a double, Clausen was 1-2 and Tayler Grabinoski and Harley Lindell each went 1-3.

The Armstrong-Ringsted softball team and pitcher Amy Leach came up with another shut out in a 6-0 win over Pocahontas on Thursday.

Leach struck out 18 batters and gave up one hit to the visiting Indians. She also hit one batter.

The Mustangs (7-3) scored a run in the first and added insurance runs in the second and five innings.

Leach helped her cause, going 2-2 with an RBI and a run.

Harley Lindell, Morgan Grabinoski and Rosie Cheever all went 1-3. Brittney Mitchell and Brianne Gonzales each went 1-4.

Mitchell, Grabinoski and Lindell had one RBI apiece. Gonzales, Cheever and Lindell each scored a run.
