Tuesday, the Mustangs came up with a couple key two out hits to score their three runs.

The Indians’ best chanc to score came in the seventh when Briana Brunsvold drew a leadoff walk and Emily Mercer singled. The runners advanced to second third when Megan Ingvall popped out to right field for the second out. But the game ended when Paige Krause grounded out to the pitcher.

Mercer was 1-3.

Vale had a much improved night compared to Monday’s game against Storm Lake giving up six hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

“Cara was disappointed after last night,” said Spirit Lake coach Chuck Skogerboe. I was pleased with the way the kids battled tonight.”
