Indians fall to Bulldogs

ALGONA – The Spirit Lake softball team had another rough night in a 12-2, five-inning loss to Algona.

While the Indians bats have been more active in the last couple games, opponents have been better.

The Bulldogs pounded out 13 hits against Spirit Lake starter Cara Vale, striking out just once.

Algona starter Mackenzie Siefken held the Indians to five hits and had eight strikeouts.

For the Indians, Paige Krause and Emily Mercer each had a double. Allie Gerking and Amanda Bueltel also each had a hit.

The Indians begin Class 2A postseason play at 7 p.m. Thursday against top-rated Okoboji in Milford
