Knights run over Bulldogs in 2009 opener

GRAETTINGER – The Graettinger/Terril Knights had no trouble with Aurelia in the season opener, going ahead 54-0 by halftime on the way to a 54-8 victory.

Nate Howard had five touchdowns and 164 yards on just six carries.

He scored on runs of 5, 22 and 52 yards in the first quarter and on runs of 21 and 28 yards in the second quarter.

Drew Skattebo added two touchdowns and 96 yards on nine carries. He scored on an 11-yard run in the first quarter and a 20-yard run in the second quarter.

The Knights backups got into the game before halftime. Jeremiah Andrews scored the final eight points for G/T with a 4-yard run followed by the two-point conversion with no time on the clock in the first half.

Andrews had 11 yards on five carries. Trent Lundgren had 17 yards on two carries and Colin Leiting had 12 yards on four carries.

Eric Hatland had two interceptions on the night.

The Knights held Aurelia to just 88 yards of offense.

Graettinger/Terril (1-0) is at Remsen-Union next Friday.
