Mustangs declaw Panthers

CORWITH – The Armstrong-Ringsted volleyball team took three-of-four games against Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne on Tuesday in Corwith.

A-R took games one and two by scores of 25-23, 25-13, with CWL rallying to win game three 25-21, before A-R put the match with a 25-14 win in game four.

The Mustangs were led offensively by Brianne Gonzales with 17 kills.

Gonzales also made her presence felt on defense with a team-leading 20 digs.

Megan Sanders chipped in with 10 kills of her own and 17 digs.

Senior setter Tess Christiansen led the team with 18 assists and was 10-of-10 serving with an ace.

Taylor Grabinoski totaled 17 assists and was a perfect 25-for-25 in serves.

Carrie Sorensen was 13-of-13 in serves and led the Knights with three aces.

The Mustangs (3-5) will return home today to face North-Sentral Kossuth.
