“The team scored 224 points which is the most we have ever scored and fourth is our best finish at this invitational,” said coach Jim Fisher. “We had several girls step up today and swim events for the first time and scored well. This is the first time we have had two top three finishes and we had 11 top 10 finishes for the first time.
“We also finished ahead of Vinton which is a good step for us and we came back and beat Spencer in a couple of events, which we did not do on Thursday night,” he continued.
“We scored points in the 500 free for the first time this year and that was 11big points for us. I told the girls going into the 400 free relay we had to beat Vinton with both teams which we did and that helped us in the meet. “
Next up is Saturday at the Polar Bear Invitational at Des Moines North.
