Knights win two at R-A

RUTHVEN – On Saturday, the Graettinger/Terril volleyball team competed in a tournament in Ruthven.

The Knights finished the tournament with two wins and one loss. All against conference opponents.

In the first match, G/T faced off with Ruthven. The Knights were able to control the tempo and were aggressive on offense. Led by Tasha Neilson’s seven kills, G/T took a commanding victory by scores of 21-11 and 21-16.

Match two saw the Knights take on Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka. G/T continued its aggressive attack and Neilson maintained her hot streak, connecting on eight kills to lead the Knights to consecutive 21-16 scores en route to their second win of the tournament.

In its third and final match, G/T faced conference power Harris-Lake Park. For the third time this year the Knights played H-LP tough, but came up just short, losing by scores of 21-13, 21-14.

Neilson was an all-around force for the Knights. She led the team in kills with 22, digs with 24, aces with five and tied sophomore Morgan Mortenson for the team lead in blocks with three apiece.

Dakota Hovinga led the team with 19 serves received and Lindsey Flaharty had 27 assists.
