Knights win season finale

GRAETTINGER – The Graettinger/Terril Knight volleyball team ended their regular season on Tuesday with an impressive 3-1 victory at home against Laurens Marathon by scores of 26-24, 25-22, 14-25 and 25-20.

“We were able to capitalize on early mistakes by Laurens-Marathon,” said G/T coach Jeff Saansgard. “Our success was due in large part to serve efficiency and great sets by junior Lindsay Flaharty.”

In their last home game of their careers, Tasha Neilson and Dakota Hovinga shined.

Neilson led the Knights with 21 kills and added 19 digs.

Hovinga led the team with 20 digs, five ace serves and 23 serves received. She also had six kills.

Flaharty had 24 assists to lead the team and Nikki Brown added nine kills.

Hailey Nelson had 15 serves received and 19 digs.

G/T will face Harris-Lake Park in the first round of the post season on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
