ELC third at Lakes Invite

OKOBOJI – Max Brashear and Matt Anderson led the Estherville Lincoln Central boys golf team to a third place finish at the Iowa Great Lakes Invitational Tournament on Saturday with rounds of 79, tying them for 11th place.

Defending Lakes Conference champion Spencer ran away with the victory, carding a three-over-par 291.

They were followed by Okoboji with 305, ELC 328, LeMars 331, Emmetsburg 361 and Spirit Lake 363.

Logan Spoo followed Brashear and Anderson with an 83 and Tyson Enderson carded an 87.

Non-counting scores came from Tucker Milburn with a 90 and Adam Reiter 95.

Spencer’s Jay Monahan was the only golfer in the field to break 70, carding a 69 to earn medalist honors.

Okoboji’s Matt Ohl and Spencer’s Zach Carlson tied for second with scores of 72.

ELC returns to action today at the Estherville Golf Course.
