Laker men place second at Mount Mercy Invite

EMMETSBURG – The Spirit Lake Park boys track team took second place at the Emmetsburg Relays on Tuesday, totaling 150 points in the meet, 46 behind champion Algona.

Emmetsburg followed with 85, Bishop Garrigan had 66 and Estherville Lincoln Central totaled 48.

The Indians had five first place and seven second place finishes on the night.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Rick Wilson, Aric Waltz, DJ Smtih and Kyle Heidebrink won with a time of 1 minute, .66 seconds.

Heidebrink also won the 400 and 110-meter hurdles with times of 56.91 and 15.43 seconds, respectively and placed second in the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 1 inch.

Alec Baldwin won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:43.26 and took second in the 3200-meter run in 9:4.56.

Luke Kabele won the 200-meter dash in 23.20 seconds and took second in the 100-meter dash in 11.51.

Cody Poock, Keven Martinason, Rick Maris and Drew Dau took second in the medley relay with a time of 3:55.53.

Kabele, Waltz, Martinson and Wilson placed second in the 4×400-meter relay in 3.33.32.

Dalston Kelley took second in the discus with a throw of 135 feet, 2 inches.

Kayne Feldick took second in the 400-meter dash in 51.60.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Alex Dau, Maris Drew Dau and Adam Dau took third in 9:01.75.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Waltz, Martinson, Poock and Mike Sheridan placed third in 1:36.85 and Alex Dau placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.25 seconds.
