A-R golfers struggle

BANCROFT – Both Armstrong-Ringsted golf teams played in Bancroft on Thursday and both struggled in windy conditions , losing by a combined 115 strokes to host North Sentral Kossuth.

The boys team lost 164-185 and the girls lost 200-294.

Keith Mathine was the lone Mustang to shoot better than bogey golf on the day, opening with a birdie on the first hole before suffering a triple bogey seven on the par four eighth to finish with a 42.

Ethan Jensen followed with a round of 45, Dylan Looft carded a 47 and Dakota Mullen shot a 51.

Non-counting scores came from David Leach with a 52 and Jimmy Cronk with a 53.

The girls were led by Megan Sanders’ round of 58.

She was followed by Katelynn Cheever with a 65, Jalissa Irmiter 85 and Becky Cronk and Courtney Lindell each carded rounds of 86.
