Cornbelt golf teams in action

WESLEY – The Armstrong-Ringsted boys golf team won Friday against Corwith-Wesley-Luverne 182 to 187. Golfers from Twin River Valley also competed.
CWL swept medalist honors as Mitchell Carroll shot a 44 and Josh Hilbert had a 45, but A-R was more consistent with all four scores in the 40s.
Spencer Clausen and Dylan Looft each shot 45s while Keith Mathine and Ethan Jensen each shot 46s.
Non-counting scores were a 61 from Ethan Eisenbacher and a 63 from David Leach.
In girls golf, CWL with a 177 to A-R’s 197. TRV had just three golfers compete.
Cassie Cinks of TRV took medalist honors with a 54 with CWL’s Melissa Otis earning runnerup honors, also with a 54.
A-R was led by Megan Sanders with a 68 while Katelyn Cheever had a 66, Courtney Lindell shot a 73 and Jalissa Irmiter had a 76.
Non-counting score was an 82 from Becky Cronk.
G-T plays at Okoboji invite
ARNOLDS PARK – The Graettinger-Terril boys golf team took part in an 18-hole tournament Saturday-the Okoboji Invitational at Emerald Hills.
The Knights finished eighth overall with a 395. Okoboji won with a 311 followed by hartley-Melvin-Sanborn with 349, Emmetsburg with 354, Boyden-Hull with 367, Sibley-Ocheyedan with 380, Pocahontas Area with 381, H-Lp with 390 and the Knights with 385 and the Okoboji JV with 416.
“Emerald Hills is a great course to play on to get some 18-hole tournament experience,” said G-T coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “Plus you get to play against great competition. The wind made the course really tough.”
The Knights were led by Cody Dyhrkopp with a 90 while Ryan Schany shot a 94, Zach Harris a 105 and Mitch Girres a 106.
Non-counting scores were a 11 from Quinn Parker and a 128 from Tanner Naig.
