Without its top golfer, Taylor Heinrichs, the Estherville Lincoln Central girls golf team didn’t have its best night ina home Lakes Conference triangular on Monday.

The Midgetets would’ve needed more though as both Emmetsburg and Cherokee shot very well.

Emmetsburg won with a 189 and swept medalist honors as Jenny Hoch shot a 44 and Janna Hock had a 46. Cherokee carded a 206 while ELC shot a 252.

ELC was led by Aryn Ward and Raeanna Mullerr, who both carded 61s. Rachel Lausen and Paige Hoffmeyer each tho 64s.

“The girls had some breakdowns tonight and had some big numbers on a few holes,” said ELC coach kevin Richardson. “Golf is a mental game and we either get frustrated or lose concentration ona hole and run up a big number. We don’t shoot well enough to have a bad hole and get away with it.”

Non-counting scores were a 66 from Andrea Lunning and a 76 by Chelsea Simon.
