Midgets split Lakes dual

CHEROKEE – The Estherville Lincoln Central boys golf team ended its season with a Lakes Conference dual in Cherokee.

The host Braves won the meet with a 155 led by medalist Matt Pitts’ 34 and runnerup medalist Jake Spindler’s 39.

ELC finished with 165 to beat Emmetsburg which carded a 175.

The Midgets were led by Max Brashear, who carded a 40. Tucker Milburn shot a 41 while Logan Spoo and Matt Anderson each shot 42s.

Non-counting scores were a 52 from Tyson Enerson and a 56 from Adam Reiter.

ELC finishes the conference dual season with a 4-3 record.

In junior varsity play, Emmetsburg won with a 206 followed by Cherokee with 219 and ELC with 220.

For the Midgets, Matt Burrell shot a 52, Cody Baker had a 54, Justin Harris had a 55 and there was a choice of 59s from ELC’s Kyle Klingbeil and Hunter Gifford.
