ELC shoots well at Invite
SIBLEY – The Estherville Lincoln Central girls golf team was out full strength, but still finished ninth at the very competitive Sibley Invitational on Tuesday.
The top 10 golfers in the nine-team meet all shot 47 or better with Okoboji’s Kiley Wermersen earning medalist honors with a 39.
ELC shot one of its better scores of the season, led by Taylor Heinrichs with a 50. Paige Hoffmeyer shot a 55 while Raeanna Muller carded a 59 and Aryn Ward carded a 60.
Non-counting scores were a 65 from Andrea Lunning and a 66 by Rachel Lausen.
Spirit Lake wins Invite
Spirit Lake had three players in the top 10 at the Sibley Invitational and edged Okoboji by five strokes, 181 to 185.
The Indians were led by Maureen Owens, who carded a 43. Ashley Nielsen shot a 44 and Regan Sieperda had a 47.
Anna Hoss also shot a 47 to complete Spirit Lake’s team score.
Non-counting scores were a 58 from Leah Hilpipre and Mikaela Weeks shot a 55.
