The Estherville Lincoln Central girls tennis team couldn’t get a break against a much-improved LeMars team on Tuesday.

The visiting Bulldogs won two tiebreakers to pull off a mini-upset 5-4 over the Midgettes.

“We had to switch up our lineup a bit , but we still saw a lot of good matches,” said ELC coach Larry Kirchner.

Liz Olson and Corin Swalve were both pulled up to the varsity for the match.

“It’s a tough jump to varsity for both of them,” the coach said. “LeMars has improved tremendously since the first time we played them. They’re young and they’ll be tough in the future.”
