ARMSTRONG – Armstrong-Ringsted hosted the 2010 District Track Meet on Friday and had several oustanding finishes.

Senior Craig Tigges topped his personal best throw in the discus to take first place at the meet. Tigges’ toss of 148 feet, 8 inches should put him solidly in the top 10 in the state.

“I was 12th coming in I think,” said Tigges. “That throw should move me up the list, but everyone else could have improved as well and it might even out. There are a lot of good throwers this year. Last year 148 feet probably would have made the finals at state.”

Fellow senior Tyler Tonderum also was named district champion, running the 100-meter dash in just over 11 seconds.

Junior Travis Hantelman won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 2 inches.
