Milburn improves on day 2

By Staff | May 20, 2010

DAYTON BEACH, Fla. – Macy Milburn, the Iowa Lakes Community College golfer who advanced to the national women’s competition, got an early and good start to her day Wednesday.

“She shot a lot better today. She shot 94 kind of more what she experts” when she plays a round of golf, according to Cory VanGroll, who traveled with Milburn to Daytona Beach, Fla. “She’s getting a little better feel for what to expect on this course. She played good and hopefully tomorrow she can shoot even better.”

The weather was decent.

“Actually there was a zero threat of rain,” VanGroll said. “While she said it was hot, it wasn’t as hot as it could have been because there was cloud cover today.”

Tomorrow is the last day of the tourney which was reduced by one day because of rain in Florida on Monday.

As of the writing of this release, a time has not been announced online for Milburn to tee off at the LPGA International Golf Club Legends Course. For more information on tee times and results, go to www.daytonastate.edu/golf/njcaa.html.
