RUTHVEN – After giving up two runs in the first inning, the Graettinger-Terril softball team shut down Ruthven-Ayrshire and went on to a 15-2, five-inning victory over their hosts.
Since the Raiders softball field was underwater, the teams played on the R-A baseball field.
“It was a little adjustment for our players,” said G-T coach Stephanie Hanson.
The Knights’ Alyssa Hoffman pitched all five innings int eh win, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
At the plate, Brooke Hoffman was 2-4 with two RBIs, Lindsey Flaharty was 2-3 and Hailey Nelson was 1-3 with two RBIs. Also, Dakota Hovinga was 1-3 and Amanda Oleson and Maddy Schany each went 1-4. Tasha Neilson had one RBI.
G-T (9-5) travels to the Okoboji Tournament in Milford today. The Knights take on the host Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. and then play Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn at 6 p.m.
