ELC frosh split with NSK

The Estherville Lincoln Central freshmen baseball team split a doubleheader with North Sentral Kossuth on Wednesday.

ELC rallied from an 8-6 deficit in game one to win 10-8.

Justin Frederick drove in two runs to break an 8-8 tie in the top of the fifth inning. He was 2-3 with three RBIs.

Also at the plate, Bryce Hansen was 2-2, Billy Snyder and Derek Neiland each went 2-3 with an RBI and Justin Harris had an RBI.

Adam Reiter earned the win. He pitched fiving innings, faced 28 batters and gave up eight runs (four earned) on five hits with six strikeouts and six walks.

In game two, NSK rallied in the bottom of the fifth for a 5-4 victory.

Tyler Swanson took the loss. He pitched all five innings, facing 26 batters. He gave up five runs (four earned) on four hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Alec Wycoff was 2-3 with an RBI. Swanson had a double and an RBI and Tim Greving had two RBIs.

ELC (15-2) is home against Spirit Lake next Tuesday.
