ARMSTRONG – The Armstrong-Ringsted softball team had one bad inning against Harris-Lake Park. Otherwise the Mustangs could’ve swept the Wolves.

As it was, the two teams split Wednesday’s doubleheader with H-LP taking game one 11-9 while A-R won game two 13-3 in five innings.

A-R coach Hilary Menke said the Mustangs gave up five unearned runs in the second inning of the first game.

The Mustangs did come up with nine hits to just seven by the Wolves.

Harley Lindell took the loss on the mound. She struck out two batters and walked seven.

For A-R, Dena Looft was 2-4 with two RBIs and Whitney Kinnander was 2-4. Also Jasmine Clausen was 1-3.

In game two, Brianne Gonzales, Jordan Guerdet and Lindell had the hot bats as the trio accounted for 10 of the Mustangs’ 12 hits.

Gonzales was 4-4 with three RBIs while Guerdet was 3-3 with a double and an RBI and Lindell was 3-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Megan Sanders was 1-3 with a double while Clausen was 1-4 with an RBI.

Hannah Gardner picked up the win on the mound. She hit one batter and walked one and the Wolves only come up with two hits-one a solo home run.

A-R returns to action Friday at home with a doubleheader against West Bend-Mallard.
