Midgets end season 18-2

SPENCER – With a sweep of Spencer on Thursday, the Estherville Lincoln Central freshman baseball team finished its season with an 18-2 overall record.

Billy Snyder pitched a complete game shut out in game one, defeating the Tigers 11-0 in five innings. Snyder allowed just one hit and struck out five batters.

Snyder was also a monster at the dish, going 3-3 with a double and two RBI.

Tyler Swanson was 2-2 with two RBI and Alec Wycoff was 2-3 with a double. Riley Strenge also had two RBI while Corey Reeves and Tim Greving each had one.

Swanson picked up the game two victory by a score of 5-1. Swanson went the distance and allowed two hits while striking out eight.

Snyder and Blake Gjerde were each 1-2 with an RBI while Greving was 1-1 with an RBI. Reeves was 1-1, Wycoff was 1-2 and Strenge was 1-3 for ELC.
