Laker men win Iowa Central Invite
The Iowa Lakes Men’s and Women’s Golf Team were in action Monday at the Fort Dodge Country Club for the Iowa Central Spring Invite.
The Iowa Lakes Men’s team coming out on top of the 10 team race winning by two over Briar Cliff University shooting a 333 and BCU shooting a 335.
Leading the way for the Lakers was Ryan Stevens placing third with a 79. He was followed by Scott Kremer who tied for seventh with an 83. Adam Oster shot an 85 placing him in a tie for 12th. Nathan Spoo was the last counting score for the Lakers with an 86 tying him for 16th place.
Non-counting score was Zach Woldruff with an 89 finishing tied for 22nd. The Iowa Lakes Men also had two individuals competting in the field. Josh Ellanson finished in a tie for 32nd with a 92 while Davis Jacobson finished in a tie for 41st with a 96. Weather conditions were tough 40 degrees and wind blowing 35-40 miles per hour all day gusting more.
Next action for the Laker Men will be Friday and Saturday at the Buena Vista Men’s Invite.
The Iowa Lakes Women were also in action at the Iowa Central Spring Invite. The Laker Women finished fourth with a 411. Iowa Central Women won the meet with a team score of 400.
Macy Milburn led the way for Iowa Lakes shooting a 98 placing sixth. Kelsey Osborne finished seventh with a score of 99. Karlee Schneekloth finished in a tie for 13th shooting a 104. Meaghan Schmidt was the fourth counting score with a 110 finishing in a tie for 19th place.
Non-counting score for the Laker Women was Ashley Miller shooting a 111 finishing 20th individually.
Next action for the Laker Women will beTuesday, April 12 when the men and women travel to Webster City to play in the Ellsworth CC Spring invite.
