CHEROKEE – The Estherville Lincoln Central Girls Track Team finished fifth with 71 points at the Tomahawk Relays in Cherokee on Friday.

Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove took first in the 11-team field.

“It was a good meet, and it was cold,” said ELC coach Tina Burton. “But we saw some personal bests and that’s what we’re looking for-continued improvement.”

ELC’s two top finishes came in 4×800 relay and the high jump.

The foursome of Macy Dahl, Casey Sievert, Kenzie Woodyard and Brianna Enerson finished the 4×800 in 10:35.

Allie Sievert won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet.

Emily Kirchner gave ELC a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash where she finished in 63.19 seconds. She also anchored the second-place 4×400-meter relay team which included Casey Sievert, Dahl and Woodyard. They finished in 4:23.

Kirchner anchored the third-place sprint medley team of Sadie Winter, Alesha Jorgenson and Paige Guge, which clocked in at 2:00.56.

Also third were Jorgenson in the 200-meter dash in 29.1 seconds and Rachel Bates in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:17.

Guge took fourth in the 100-meter dash in 13.45 seconds.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Winter, Olivia Evans, Megan Karels and Ashley Weston placed sixth in 1:17.
