Lakers finish 16th at BV Tourney
STORM LAKE – The Iowa Lakes Men’s Golf team wrapped up play Saturday at the Buena Vista Men’s Invite.
The Lakers moved up two spots from its Friday position and finished in 16th place of the 24-team race. Nebraska Wesleyan won the tournament by six strokes over Central College.
For Iowa Lakes carded a 328 on Friday and a 319 on Saturday for a team total of 647. Iowa Lakes was led for the tournament by Ryan Stevens finishing t-57th at 160 (80-80) Scott Kremer finished t-64th at 162 (83-79). Josh Ellanson playing as an individual finished in a t-71st at 163 (84-79). Adam Oster finished in t-82nd place with a 165 (86-79). Zach Woldruff finished in a t-91st shooting 167 (79-88). Nathan Spoo finished t-94th shooting 168 (87-81). Davis Jacobson also competed individually finishing in a tie for 118th place shooting 175 (87-88).
“It’s a great tournament to play in for these players to be able to compete against some stiff competition, being most of the field are four year schools except us and two others,” said Iowa Lakes coach Andy Soper.
Next action for the Lakers will be Tuesday when the men and women travel to Webster City to compete in the Ellsworth Spring Invite.
