Stokke posts lone first for SLP at Cherokee

CHEROKEE – At the Tomahawk Relays on Friday, the Spirit Lake Park Girls Track Team placed fifth with 97 points. MOC/Floyd Valley won with 143 points followed by Spencer with 128 points, Bishop Heelan with 104 points, LeMars with 99 points, SLP, Sioux City North with 61 points, Storm Lake with 48 points, and Sioux City West with 35 points.

Kendra Stokke had the lone first place for Spirit Lake as she won the in 400-meter hurdles in 74.80 seconds. Brianna Brunvcld finished second in the 3000-meter run in 11:54.09

Plcacing third was Emily Mercer in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 3 inches while Molly Hutchins placed fourth with a toss of 33 feet 4 1/2 inches.

Hutchings took third in the discus with a throw of 104 feet, 6 inches while Mercer placed fifth with a throw of 97 feet, 10 inches.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Dondi Schmidt, Jessie Kabele, Bailey Heikens and Liz Skogerboe placed third in 11:09.87.

Stooke took fourth in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches while Bailey Loveall was eighth at 4 feet, 6 inches.

Kabele took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 8 inches.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Stokeke, Miranda Bruggeman, Kayla Herrig, Kaela Delperdang finished fourth in 78.60 seconds. Loveall was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 67.54 seconds and the 4×400-meter relay team of Herrig, Loveall, Kabele and Katie Hamilton was fourth in 4:58.66.

Dondi Schmidt took fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:39.18 while Brunsvold was fifth in the 1500-meter run in 5:38.43.

Placing sixth was the sprint medley team of Carter Hassel, Lindsey Arenson, Bruggeman and Loveall in 2:09.54 and the 4×100-meter relay team of Hassel, Arenson, Abbey Horsman and Herrig in 57.74 seconds.
