Laker golfers host own invite
The Iowa Lakes Men’s and Women’s Golf teams were in action at Brooks National Golf Club for the Iowa Lakes Spring Invite this weekend.
The Laker men posted their lowest team score of the spring with a 312 and finished third. Iowa Central won the meet with a 303, second place was Morningside JV followed by Iowa Lakes, Morningside tied for fourth with NIACC with a 313, DMACC finished shot a 317 for sixth place, Sioux Falls JV was seventh with a 319, Iowa Lakes JV tied for eight with a 336 with Marshalltown, and Ellsworth finishing 10th with a 346.
Leading the way for the Lakers was tournament medalist Ryan Stevens who fired an even par round of 71. Nathan Spoo fired a 78 to finish tied for 11th, Josh Ellanson shot an 81, and Adam Oster finished with an 82.
Leading the way for the JV team was Matt Kosbab who finished in 10th place with a 77.
Laker women finish third
On the women’s side the Laker women also shot their lowest team score of the spring with a 375 tying them with NIACC for third place. Iowa Western took the team title with a 344, DMACC was second with a 359, Iowa Central finished 5th with a 396, and Ellsworth was sixth with a 418.
Macy Milburn led the Lakers with a score of 88 finishing in fifth place. Meaghan Schmidt fired a 91 placing her in 11th. Kelsey Osborne shot a 96, Ashley Miller shot a 100 and non counting score was Karlee Schneekloth with a 107.
Iowa Lakes also had an individual playing, Taylor Ask shot a 99.
