ELC, SLO rained out in middle of match

SPIRIT LAKE – Estherville Lincoln Central and Spirit Lake-Okoboji tried to get in a match before Monday’s rain, but Mother Nature had other ides.

SLO led 3-0 when play was halted.

In singles matches that were completed, Corin Swalve lost 10-0 to Alli Gerking at the No. 2 singles, Allison Hevern lost 10-0 to KJ Veldman at the No. 3 singles and Bailey Hagen lost 10-3 to Holly Seeman at the No. 5 singles.

In other singles matches, Erin Olson led Aubry Kolegraff 7-6 and Amanda Heinrichs trailed Hannah Coenen 9-2 when play stopped.

ELC coach Larry Kirchner said they may try to complete the match before the end of the season.

ELC is scheduled to travel to LeMars today and host Spencer on Thursday.
