ELC holds tiebreaker over Spirit Lake

They don’t make golf meets much closer than this.

Estherville Lincoln Central and Spirit Lake tied with an overall team score of 176 in boys’ golf action Thursday.

However. ELC won on the fifth score tiebreaker-Adam Reiter’s 49-to earn the win.

Meanwhile, Spirit Lake’s Matt Weeks beat Logan Spoo in a playoff for top medalist honors. Both golfers shot a 40.

Rounding out ELC’s scores were a 42 by Max Brashear, a 46 by Corey Reeves and a 48 by Tucker Milburn.

Besides Reiter’s 49, ELC’s other non-counting score was a 65 by Clay Tredway.

For Spirit Lake, Scott Hummel shot a 44 while Zach Skopec and Trevor Caldwell each shot a 46.

Non-counting scores were a pair of 50s by Matt Heaton and Corey Potter.

ELC is on the road at LeMars with Storm Lake on Monday.
