Midgets finish second in Lakes

LEMARS – Max Brashear earned medalist honors shooting a 39 to help the Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Golf Team defeat both LeMars and Storm Lake on Monday.

ELC shot a 172 while LeMars had a 179 and Storm Lake a 188. The two victories give the Midgets a 6-1 regular season record in the Lakes Conference.

Storm Lake’s John Bral was runner-up medalist with a 40.

Rounding out ELC’s scores were Logan Spoo with a 41, Adam Reiter with a 45 and Tucker Milburn with a 47.

Non-counting scores were a 49 by Corey Reeves and a 51 by Justin Harris.

ELC is home with Jackson County Central on Friday.

In junior varsity play, LeMars won with a 187 followed by ELC with 199 and Storm Lake with 272.

Chris Seylar led the Midgets with a 46 while Clay Tredway shot a 48, Matt Burrell shot a 51 and Levi Quastad had a 54.

Non-counting scores were a 55 by Kyle Thompson and a 57 by Hunter Gifford.
