A two time state place winner from Graettinger/Terril will join Iowa Lakes Community College wrestling program this coming season.

Knight senior Nathan Howard signed a National Junior College Letter of Intent on Monday, May 9, to wrestle for Coach Corey VanGroll and Iowa Lakes Community College.

Howard, the son of Rick and Karen Howard, placed fourth at 189 pounds his junior year. His senior year he bumped up a weight class to 215 pounds, and recorded an impressive 46-0 record and a state championship title.

“We are very excited to have Nathan join our program. He brings a lot talent into our room,” said coach VanGroll.

Howard was also a stand out football player for Graettinger/Terril.

“It was a personal decision. Iowa Lakes is a great place for me to continue to do the sport I love at a high level,” Howard said. “It also affords me the opportunity to still live at home.”

Howard plans on taking general courses at Iowa Lakes in effort to accomplish his associate in arts degree.
