Hutchins earns all-conference in shot put
EMMETSBURG – The Spirit Lake Park Girls Team scored 82 points to finish fifth at the Lakes Conference meet on Monday.
Two all-conference performers led the Indians’ effort.
Molly Hutchins placed first in the shot put with a season-best throw of 36 feet, 9 inches.
Kendra Stokke placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 69.91 seconds to also earn all-conference honors.
A pair of third place finishes came next. The distance medley relay team of Kayla Herrig, Abbey Horsman, Caitlin Eckerman and Bailey Heikens finished in 4:52.41.
Briana Brunsvold placed third in the 3000-meter run in 11:10.58 while Dondi Schmidt placed fourth in 11:44.68. Emily Mercer finished third in the discus with a throw of 110 feet, 6 inches while Hutchins was sixth with a throw of 93 feet, 1 inch.
In the 1500-meter run Schmidt placed fourth in 5:32.19 while Brunsvold placed fifth in 5:32.50.
The 4×800-meter relay team of Heikens, Jessie Kabele, Justine Heinitz and Liz Skogerboe placed fourth in 11:16.05. Also fourth was the 4×200-meter relay team of Carter Hassel, Lindsey Arneson, Stokke and Miranda Brueggeman in 1:53.63.
The shuttle hurdle relay team of Stokke, Brueggeman, Corri VanderWoude and Kayla Herrig placed fifth in 73.98 seconds. Also fifth was the 4×100-meter relay team of Hassel, Horsman, Arneson and Brueggeman in 54.31 seconds.
Stokke placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches. The sprint medley team of Hassle, Horsman, Arneson and Eckerman placed sixth in 2:01.86. Also sixth was the 4×400-meter relay team of Bailey Loveall, Katie Hamilton, Kabele and Lydia Brandt in 4:47.97.
