SPIRIT?LAKE?-?The Spirit Lake-Okoboji Girls Tennis Team went unbeaten in Lakes Conference play for the fourth straight season after defeating Cherokee 9-0 on Tuesday.

“They have won 43 consecutive conference meets,” said SLO coach Bob O’Hara. “It was a great night for seniors Alli Gerking, Aubry Kolegraff, Holly Seemann, and Jamie Kohlhaase to end their careers at home on. They played great, but the main thing I wanted was for them to have fun. And that was not a problem they all seemed to have a great time.”

In singles play, Alli Gerking defeated Sarah Ruehle 10-0, Aubry Kolegraff defeated Denise Freed 10-0; KJ Veldman defeated Amber Haupart 10-0; Hannah Coenen defeated Anna Lehrach 10-4; Rachael Westergard defeated Taylor Meyerhofer 10-0 and Holly Seeman defeated Emily Egtala 10-2.

In doubles play, SLO didn’t give up a single game winning each match 10-0. Gerking and Kolegraff defeated Ruehle and Freed; Coenen and Kohlhaase defeated Haupert and Egtala; and Veldman and Westergard defeated Lehrach and Meyerhofer.

“Our focus goes to the post season and we’ll concentrate on making some improvements in the next couple of weeks,” said O’Hara. “Hopefully some more great things will happen.”
