Laker women remain perfect at home

Iowa Lakes kept its home record perfect with a 69-63 win over the William Penn Junior Varsity on Tuesday.

The Lakers, now 2-0 at home, limited the visitors to less than 10 points through the first part of the game and built a 40-28 lead at halftime.

With 4 minutes remaining in the game, Iowa Lakes still led by 11, 65-54 when William Penn began making a late run. But the Lakers got a jump shot by Macy Dahl and a pair of free throws. The win evens the Lakers record to 3-3 on the season.

Shaunte Tucker led the Lakers with 14 points while Sobrina West finished with 12 and Alissa Johnson had 10.

Dahl finished with seven points while Natasha Kindred and Nijala Johnson each had six and Shabreka Edwards had five. Tayler Boroson, Aliyah Gipson and Allyson Sherden each had two points and Allie Kemeny had one.

Iowa Lakes’s home game with ABCD Prep scheduled for today has been cancelled. The Lakerswill instead travel to?Madison, S.D. today to play Dakota State JV. The Lakers host Iowa Western at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
