Titans come out firing in home victory
GRAETTINGER – Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire couldn’t miss at the start on Friday’s game against North Union while the Warriors struggled to fiind the basket.
The host Titans jumped out to a 26-0 lead before Aric Runge finally scored a layup at the 2:15 mark of the first quarter to beak the drought. But the Titans still trailed 33-5 at the break.
GT/RA went on to win 77-40. Stats were unavailable at press time.
Warriors unable to keep pace
North Union played Newell-Fonda close in the first half, but the Mustangs pulled away in the third quarter and cruised to a 66-41 victory. The Warriors trailed 13-6 after one quarter and 30-26 at the break when Newell-Fonda came out with a 22-5 third quarter to lead 52-31 to start the fourth. Jacob Braddock led North Union with 17 points while Aric Runge had eight and Trent Pedersen had five. Braden Ortman, Cody Runksmeier, Parker Oleson and Dyson Umscheid each had two points and Kaleb Olson had one.
