H-LP gets past North Union

LAKE PARK – The North Union boys fell behind early to Harris-Lake Park and then the Wolves caught fire late in the game to win 53-34 over the Warriors on Friday.

H-LP jumped out to a 7-0 lead and led 25-16 at halftime.

Both teams struggled to score in the third quarter with host H-LP winning that period 6-4 to lead 31-20 to start the fourth quarter.

The Warriors finished with balanced scoring-just not quite enough.

Aric Runge led North Union with 11 points, Trent Pedersen finished with seven points, Braden Ortman had five, Jacob Braddock, Aric Runge and Kaleb Olson each had four and Colin Runksmeier and Dyson Umscheid each had two.

North Union (1-7 overall) hosts Corwith-Wesley-Luverne on Jan. 3, 2014.
