Trojans knock down Iowa Lakes

MASON CITY – No. 20 Iowa Lakes suffered its second worst loss of the season as NIACC defeated the Lakers 95-75 on Wednesday on Wednesday.

Both teams threw up 63 shots from the floor with the Lakers making 30 and NIACC making 31. But the Trojans made five more three-pointers (8-3) as well as earning more trips to the free throw line where the hosts went 25-of-30 while the Lakers finished 12-of-21.

Latrell Love led the Lakers with 27 points while Deondre Parks finished with 17, but they were the only two to reach double digits for the visitors. Emmanuel Golong finished with nine points while Jake Jannsen finished with six and Justin Sloter and Brandon Boggs each had four. Thate Harmon and Diamontae McKinley each had three points.

David Humphries led NIACC with 25 points while Al Davis finished with 21, Matthew Don with 18 and Sam Skogen with 17.

Iowa Lakes (9-5 overall, 2-1 in the ICCAC) is home against No. 13 Kirkwood today. Game time is 3 p.m.
