Rolling scores 21 as North Union defeats GTRA
ARMSTRONG – The North Union Girls defeated Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 47-32 on Friday.
The host Warriors led 22-12 at halftime.
“It was a game of runs,” said North Union coach Merle Tigges. “We were ahead 22-6 in the first half and they held us the final four or five minutes. They both teams made runs in the third quarter and we kind of closed it out in the fourth. I thought GTRA did a better job of getting to the free-throw line.”
Sarah Rolling led North Union with 21 points and four rebounds. Aurora Oliver had 11 points, Peyton Oleson had seven points and two steals. Dena Looft finished with four points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Alexis Valvick had three points and Madison Bolig had one. Rolling, Oliver and Bollig each had four rebounds too.
North Union (7-4 overall, 4-1 in the Cornbelt Conference) is at Clay Central-Everly on Tuesday and hosts Harris-Lake Park on Friday.
