Titans survive challenges

GRAETTINGER – Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire had a couple tough challenges this past week.

The Titans needed to work for a 59-54 win over Lakes Mills on Saturday. GTRA then held on against North Iowa for a 54-45 victory on Monday.

Against Lake Mills, the Titans led 14-12 after one quarter and 32-24 at halftime, but the Bulldogs rallied to cut the deficit to 44-42 to start the final frame.

Andy Geelan led GTRA with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Connor Sturgill finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Nick Josephson had 10 points, while Taylor Enderson had six, Mason McGrauth and Noah Stukey had five and Lane Reiman had two. Josephson also had seven rebounds and Reiman had seven assists.

Against North Iowa, the Titans trailed 15-9 after one quarter, but led 31-20 at halftime and 45-31 to start the final period. Geelan finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Stukey and Sturgill had nine pints each, Reiman had seven, McGrauth and Josephson had six, Enderson had three and Joe Tonderum and Jared Sikora each had two. Reiman also had seven assists and Sturgill had seven rebounds.

GTRA (15-1) hosted Harris-Lake Park on Friday. The Titans wrap up the season against Clay Central-Everly on Tuesday and Newell-Fonda on Friday.
