GT/RA suffers consecutive losses
TERRIL, RUTHVEN – The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire boys suffered two straight losses for the first time this, first to Harris-Lake Park 61-52 on Friday and then 85-70 to Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn on Saturday.
The Titans (16-3) did bounced back to trounce Clay Central-Everly 67-16 on Tuesday.
GTRA started out well enough against H-LP on Friday, leading 13-9 after one quarter, but the Wolves caught fire in the second quarter and surged ahead to a 34-26 lead. GTRA could never mount a run in the second half.
Andy Geelan led the Titans with 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Connor Sturgill finished with 17 points while Noah Stukey had 11 points and nine rebounds. Taylor Enderson had three points and Mason McGrauth had two. Lane Reiman had four assists.
On Saturday, GTRA and MMC battled for three quarters when Eagles pulled away in the final frame. MMC led 16-13 after one quarter, 37-36 at halftime and 58-56 after three quarters.
Geelan led the Titans with 19 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals. Sturgill finished with 17 points while Enderson and Stukey each had 12. Stukey also had nine rebounds.
Nick Josephson chipped in eight points and McGrauth had two. Reiman had four assists and four steals.
