GTRA edges WBM in first meet

Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire won first of six Cornbelt Conference schedule this season.

The Titans shot a 200 on Friday, edging West Bend-Mallard by two strokes. Harris-Lake Park finished with 225 while North Union shot 244 and Clay Central-Everly had a 287. Corwith-Wesley-Luverne had just one player.

WB-M Jenna Thul took medalist honors with a 43 while H-LP’s Macy Gunderson was runner-up with a 48.

GT’RA’s Kelley Harris also shot a 48 while Sara Harris and Caroline Koekenhoff each shot 49s and Lauren Hoffman rounded out the scoring with a 54. Non-counting scores were a 56 by Carrie Hoffman and a 62 by Emma Feldhacker.

“With great scoring conditions the girls shot very well for their first time out,” said GTRA coach John Fulton.

For North Union, Taylor Mathine led the way with a 59, Ashley Laverty shot a 60, Maddie Schiltz shot a 61 and Linsey Irmiter shot a 64. Non-counting scores were a 65 by Courtney Foertsch and a 73 by Brianna Schroeder.
