Indians take second at Estherville Relays
The Spirit Lake Park 4×800-meter relay team set a meet record at the 93rd Running of the Estherville Relays on Tuesday.
The event was one of three that the Indians placed first in as they finished second overall with 117 points behind Algona’s 157.
The record-setting 4×800 team consisted of Kyle Anderson, Paul Woizeschke, Josh Waite and Tanner Goetsch as they clocked in at 8 minutes, 13.04 seconds.
Also, Jacob Jenness won the discus with a throw of 145 feet and the 4×200-meter relay team of Tyler Jenness, Caleb Jennings, Blake Enderson and Zach Renken won in 1:34.96.
“Tonight was a meet of overcoming some adversities and rising to the challenges,” said SLP coach brad Travis. “Our boys did an outstanding job and it was great to watch the whole team compete, as this meet allowed for a full JV line-up.”
