ELC takes ninth at Spencer Invitational
The Estherville Lincoln Central boys golf team faced some of the top teams around at the Spencer Invitational on Monday.
The Midgets finished tied with LeMars for ninth place. Humboldt won with a 326 and the Wildcat’s Christian Birdsell was meet medalist with a 74. Only six players shot under 80.
“Certainly not the results we were hoping for, placing ninth out of 14 teams,” said ELC coach Dave Van Roekel. “Hopefully this result will makes us all refocus on where it is we want our end results to look like this year.”
Jacke Brashear led ELC with an 83 while Chris Seylar shot an 86, Corey Reeves shot a 93 and Alec Wycoff carded a 94 at the Spencer Golf and Country Club.
Non-counting scores were a pair of 97s by Clay Tredway and Hunter King.
