Umschied, Runge provide top finishes for North Union

ARMSTRONG – The North Union Boys Track Team earned a fourth-place finish at their home meet-the Jim Godfredsen and Tom Elliott Relays-on Monday in Armstrong.

Estherville Lincoln Central won the meet with 135 points. Central Springs edged the host Warriors by a point 76 to 75 for third place. Emmetsburg was second with 89 points.

North Union had two top finish as Dyson Umscheid won the discus with a throw of 128 feet, 4 inches and Aric Runge tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 6 inches.

Also Runge had second-place finish in the 110-meter high hurdles and 400-meter low hurdles.

The Warriors also had a second-place relay in the 4×200-meter with Nicolo Chiozza, Marshall Klingenberg, Braden Ortman and Kaleb Olson.
