Playing on their home course for the third time this week, the Estherville Lincoln Central boys had a rough day against Western Christian and Emmetsburg.

Led by medalist Mike Myers’ 38, the E’Hawks won with a 165 while Western Christian was a stroke behind at 166. ELC blew up with a 181.

“We can’t sugar coat this one-we had a tough day on the links today, especially when it’s our home course,” said ELC coach Dave Van Roekel. “These kind of days will test your character and build your character!”

Corey Reeves led ELC with a 42 while Chris Seylar shot a 45. ELC had a choice of two 47s for the final counting scores as Jack Brashear, Alec Wycoff and Hunter King all shot that score. Clay Tredway finished with a 49.

In junior varsity play, Western Christian shot a 186, ELC a 204 and Emmetsburg a 227. Medalist was Alex DeWeerd of Western Christian with a 43. For ELC, Blake Gjerde shot a 48, Jake Bortvit a 50, Chase Erickson a 53, Zach Edwards a 53, Reese Vedder a 56 and Alex Molacek a 59.
