SL-O girls remain perfect

STORM LAKE – The Spirit Lake-Okoboji girls improved to 6-0 on the season as they defeated Storm Lake 9-0 in tennis action on Tuesday.

In singles play, Olivia Rohlk defeated Kathy Lai 10-3; Natalie Delaney won 10-0 over Ellen Converse; Ryan Petievich won 10-1 Genesis Talamantes; Hanna Schoning won 10-2 over Dorothy Vang; Anna Vos won 10-1 over Andrea Almaza and Rebecca Owens won 10-2 over Monica Hill.

In doubles, Rohlk and Delaney won 10-0 over Lai and Vang; Schoning and Petievich won 10-0 over Converse and Talamantes and Vos and Mallory Luers won 10-2 over Almanza and Hill.

SL-O ekes past Storm Lake

OKOBOJI – The Spirit Lake-Okoboji boys edged past Storm Lake 5-4 on Tuesday.

SL-O won the first two singles matches and then had to sweep the doubles for the win.

Michael O’Brien defeated Ross Dewerff 5-7, 6-4 (10-3) while Ryle Smith won 6-1, 6-0 over Caleb Hinners.

In doubles, O’Brien and Smith won 6-2, 6-3 over Ross Dewerff and Brett Dewerff; Hunter Andreason and Tully Reed won 7-6(5), 6-7(4), (10-6) over Jake Luedtke and Danny Souksay and Will Fuelberth and Jason Thorn won 6-3, 6-2 over Hinners and Tanner Hoops.

In other singles matches, Andreason lost 7-6(4), 7-5 to Jake Luedtke; Fuelberth lost 3-6, 6-4 (10-0) to Brett Dewerff; Thorn lost 6-2, 6-2 to Sousse and Reed lost 5-7, 6-2 (10-6) to Hoops.
