Warriors win Cornbelt crown

ARMSTRONG – North Union won 12 events and had two place winners in eight events on the way to running away with the final Cornbelt Conference Track and Field Meet on Tuesday. The conference dissolves at the end of the season.

The Warriors finished with 178 points while West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley placed second with 69; Clay Central-Everly was third with 65 and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire finished fourth with 42 points.

MaKayla Hardman helped the team to four first place finishes as she won both the 100- and 200-meter dash events while running the lead leg in both the 4×1`00 and sprint medley relays. Olivia Marlow, who anchored both those relays, also won the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run. Teammates in those relays were Morgan Rahm and Kyarsten Mullen.

Jordan Guerdet added a first-place in the 100-meter hurdles while Ashley Olson won the 400 hurdles; Dena Looft the discus and Lexy Johnson the shot put. The Warriors also won the shuttle hurdle relay and distance medley.
